Frederick Burton was an American actor. Born Frederick Wishard Burton on 20 October 1871 in Indianapolis, Indiana, he died on 23 October 1957 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California.

He began his career on the stage and appeared in over 120 films between 1914 and 1947, frequently in supporting or uncredited roles as judges, senators, doctors and other authority figures. His credited parts include Pa Bascom in *The Big Trail* (1930), the Doctor in *One Way Passage* (1932), and Gen. Landacre in *Flirtation Walk* (1934). He also featured in *Mr. Smith Goes to Washington* (1939), *Fury* (1936), *Jezebel* (1938) and *Go West* (1940).

Burton was married to Lora Osgood and Jessie Perine Lawrie.
