## Biography

Frederick Forsyth was an English novelist and former journalist. Born in Ashford, Kent, he was educated at Tonbridge School, served in the Royal Air Force, and worked as a foreign correspondent for Reuters and the BBC before publishing his first novel.

His thriller *The Day of the Jackal* (1971) was adapted into a 1973 film. Forsyth wrote the screenplay for the 1987 film of his novel *The Fourth Protocol* (1984). Other works include *The Odessa File* (1972) and *The Dogs of War* (1974). He died in 2025.
