## Biography

Frederick Parslow (also credited as Fred Parslow) was an Australian actor who worked in theatre, film and television. He joined the Melbourne Theatre Company (then the Union Theatre Repertory Company) in 1953 and remained a member for nearly thirty years, appearing in numerous stage productions from the 1950s onward.

His film roles included Alvin’s father in *Alvin Purple* (1973) and Reverend Burton in Peter Weir’s *The Last Wave* (1977). On television he appeared in series such as *The Sullivans*, *Neighbours*, *Bluey* and *Mission Top Secret*, and in miniseries including *Against the Wind*. Parslow was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 1987 for services to the performing arts.
