Her credited roles include Second Mrs. Crain (uncredited) in the film *The Haunting* (1963), Iris in the television series *The Avengers* (1963), Governor Le Grand in *Blake's 7* (1979), and Mrs. Balfour in *Kadoyng* (1972). She also appeared in episodes of *Dixon of Dock Green* and other British television series between the 1960s and 1980s, sometimes credited as Frieda Shand.

She was married to actor and director Ian Shand from 1965 until his death in 1993. She was also a soprano.
