## Biography

G.R. Aldo, also credited as Aldo Graziati or Aldo Rossano Graziati, was an Italian cinematographer. He began his career in France as an actor before working as a still photographer for nearly two decades and progressing to assistant cameraman and camera operator.

His first feature as cinematographer was *La Terra Trema* (1948) for Luchino Visconti. He subsequently worked with Vittorio De Sica on *Miracle in Milan* (1951), *Umberto D.* (1952) and *Stazione Termini* (1953), and with Orson Welles on *Othello* (1951). He died in a car accident in November 1953 while shooting Visconti's *Senso* (1954).
