## Biography

Garreth Stover is an American production designer and director. He studied at the Art Center in Pasadena and received a BFA from the University of California, Los Angeles, followed by postgraduate studies in biochemistry at Columbia University. He began his career as a camera assistant before moving into the art department as a set decorator and then production designer.

Stover’s production design credits include the films *While You Were Sleeping* (1995), *Phenomenon* (1996), *The Kid* (2000), *Daddy Day Care* (2003), *13 Going on 30* (2004), *17 Again* (2009) and *Christmas with the Kranks* (2004), as well as the series *Californication* (2007), *The Vampire Diaries* (2009–2017) and *Dynasty* (2017–2021). He has also directed second-unit work on several features.

He directed three episodes of *The Vampire Diaries* between 2013 and 2016. In 2015 he wrote and directed the short film *Headlock*, which won Best International Short at the Paris Arts and Music Awards.
