## Biography

Gary Goetzman is an American film and television producer and actor. Born in Los Angeles in 1952, he began his career as a child actor before working as a music supervisor and producer on films directed by Jonathan Demme, including *Stop Making Sense* (1984) and *The Silence of the Lambs* (1991).

In 1997, Goetzman co-founded the production company Playtone with actor Tom Hanks. He has produced films including *That Thing You Do!* (1996), *My Big Fat Greek Wedding* (2002), *The Polar Express* (2004), *Mamma Mia!* (2008), *Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again* (2018) and *A Man Called Otto* (2022). He has also received Primetime Emmy Awards for television work such as the miniseries *Band of Brothers* (2001).
