## Biography

Gary Thieltges is an American cinematographer. He served as director of photography on the 1982 film *Eating Raoul*, as well as on *Retribution* (1987), *Sticky Fingers* (1988) and several other features in the 1980s.

He is the owner of Doggicam Systems and has invented camera rigs used in major productions. These include the Doggicam, developed in 1997, and the PowerSlide, employed by Emmanuel Lubezki on *Children of Men* (2006). In 2004 the Society of Operating Cameramen awarded him a Technical Achievement Award for the Bodymount; in 2005 he received a Technical Achievement Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the Sparrow Head.
