## Biography

Gene Castle is an American actor and choreographer. He began his career on Broadway as a performer and lead dancer in the original productions of several musicals, including *Gypsy* (1959), *Flower Drum Song*, *High Spirits* (1964), *Henry, Sweet Henry* (1967), *George M!* (1968) and *Oh, Kay!*.

His film credits include the role of Dancing Sailor in *New York, New York* (1977) and Assistant Choreographer on *The Goodbye Girl* (1977). He also appeared as a Party Guest and worked as choreographer on *Kiss Me Goodbye* (1982). Castle has choreographed stage productions, television specials and cruise-ship shows, and directed and choreographed the San Jose Civic Light Opera production of *On the Town*, for which he received awards for direction, choreography and best musical.
