## Biography

Gene Quintano (born 1946 as Eugene Francis Quintano Jr.) is an American screenwriter, director and producer. He began his career outside film as a salesman before entering the industry through a partnership with director Tony Anthony on the 3-D western *Comin' at Ya!* (1981).

Quintano wrote several films for Cannon Films, including *King Solomon's Mines* (1985) and *Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold* (1986). He received sole screenplay credit on *Police Academy 3: Back in Training* (1986) and *Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol* (1987). He later directed *Loaded Weapon 1* (1993) and other features.
