## Biography

Gene Wesson (also credited as Eugene Wesson, Eugene Jacob Wessell and as part of Wesson and Polk) was an American actor and comedian. Born on 23 March 1921 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he performed in a comedy act with his younger brother Dick Wesson known as the Wesson Brothers. He appeared on Broadway in productions including *Wine, Women and Song* (1942), *Happy Hunting* (1956) and *Ziegfeld Follies of 1957*, and wrote and directed the play *Infidel Caesar*.

Wesson had supporting and uncredited roles in numerous films from the early 1950s onwards. These included *Niagara* (1953), *Wichita* (1955) as First Robber, *Satan's Bed* (1965) as Eddie, and *The Battle of Algiers* (1966). He also appeared in television series such as *The Lone Ranger* (1953) and variety shows. He died on 22 August 1975 in New York City.
