Geoffrey Neigher was an American television writer and producer. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, he graduated from Yale University and Yale Law School before moving to Los Angeles in 1973. He began his career writing for MTM Enterprises sitcoms alongside partner Coleman “Chick” Mitchell, contributing to series including *The Bob Newhart Show* and *Rhoda*.

Neigher later worked on hour-long dramas. He wrote episodes of *Northern Exposure* (1990) and served as co-producer during its fourth season, receiving an Emmy nomination for writing in 1993. He produced *Picket Fences* from 1993 to 1995 and shared the 1994 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series. His other credits include writing and producing on *Murder One*, *Law & Order: Criminal Intent* and *John Doe*.
