## Biography

George Akers is a British film editor. He began his career in the 1970s as an assistant editor on productions including *Cross of Iron* (1977) and *Superman* (1978).

Akers has edited numerous feature films, including *Caravaggio* (1986), *Wish You Were Here* (1987), *Erik the Viking* (1989), *Edward II* (1991), *Carrington* (1995) and *Imagining Argentina* (2003). In 1993 he received an Australian Film Institute nomination for Best Achievement in Editing for *Map of the Human Heart*.
