## Biography

George Boemler was an American film editor. Born on 5 March 1902 in Kansas City, Missouri, he worked primarily at MGM from the late 1920s until the mid-1950s.

He edited numerous features including *Waterloo Bridge* (1940), *Blossoms in the Dust* (1941), *Adam's Rib* (1949), *The Asphalt Jungle* (1950), *Oklahoma!* (1955), *Run Silent, Run Deep* (1958) and *Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea* (1961). He also worked on television series such as *Ben Casey* and *Peyton Place*. Boemler received an Academy Award nomination for best editing for *Oklahoma!* and an Emmy nomination for *Ben Casey*.

He died on 11 June 1968 in Los Angeles, California.
