## Biography

George Clayton Johnson (10 July 1929 – 25 December 2015) was an American science fiction writer. He contributed stories and teleplays to *The Twilight Zone* (1959), including "A Penny for Your Thoughts", "A Game of Pool", "Nothing in the Dark" and "Kick the Can". He wrote the first televised episode of *Star Trek* (1966), "The Man Trap", and co-wrote the novel *Logan's Run* (1967) with William F. Nolan, which was adapted into a 1976 film.

Johnson also wrote the story that formed the basis of the 1960 film *Ocean's 11*. His other television credits include episodes of *Alfred Hitchcock Presents* and *Route 66*. He received an Inkpot Award in 1976 and a Balrog Award in 1983.
