He later worked in television, with roles including Lee Evans in *Dallas* (1982) and Father Paxton in *Falcon Crest* (1981). Cooper was born on 24 January 1920 in Brooklyn, New York City, and died on 14 February 2015 in San Luis Obispo, California. He was married to Valerie M. Conte.
