## Biography

George Eckstein was an American writer and television producer. Born in Los Angeles, he began his television career in the early 1960s as a writer on series including *The Untouchables*, *Gunsmoke*, *Dr. Kildare* and *The Invaders*.

He wrote ten episodes of *The Fugitive* (1963) and served as associate producer and co-producer on the series. With Michael Zagor, he co-wrote the two-part finale, "The Judgment" (1967). Eckstein produced *The Name of the Game*, executive produced *Banacek* and produced the 1971 television film *Duel*, directed by Steven Spielberg. Later credits as producer or executive producer included the miniseries *Masada* and *79 Park Avenue*, and the series *Love, Sidney*. He also wrote several Perry Mason television films in the late 1980s and 1990s.
