## Biography

George F. Slavin (2 March 1916 – 19 April 2001) was an American film and television writer. Born in Newark, New Jersey, he attended Bucknell University and the Yale Graduate School of Drama. He served as a pilot during the Second World War with the RAF, AAF, Ferry Command and Air Transport Command.

Slavin wrote 17 feature films and more than 200 television episodes from the 1940s to the 1980s. His film credits include *Intrigue* (1947), *The Nevadan* (1950), *Mystery Submarine* (1950), *Thunder Bay* (1953) and *The Halliday Brand* (1957). He contributed episodes to series including *Alfred Hitchcock Presents* (1955), for which he received a Writers Guild of America award, *Maverick* (1957), *Star Trek* (1966), *Hawaii Five-O* (1969) and *Mission: Impossible* (1966). He frequently collaborated with George W. George on adventure and Western films.
