## Biography

George Fanto (1911–2000) was a Hungarian-born cinematographer. He worked in several countries and settled in Brazil, where he contributed to films for the Cinédia studio.

Fanto collaborated with Orson Welles on the unfinished documentary *It's All True* (1942), shooting the "Jangadeiros" segment in Brazil. He later served as one of the cinematographers on Welles' *Othello* (1951) and received credit on the 1993 reconstruction *It's All True: Based on an Unfinished Film by Orson Welles*.
