## Biography

George Folsey Jr. was an American film editor and producer. Born in Los Angeles, he began his career in television editing and later worked as an assistant editor at MGM under Henry Berman. He edited John Landis’s directorial debut *Schlock* (1973) and went on to edit several of the director’s features, including *National Lampoon’s Animal House* (1978), *The Blues Brothers* (1980) and *Coming to America* (1988), which he also produced.

Folsey edited additional films such as *Cheaper by the Dozen* (2003), *The Pink Panther* (2006) and the *Hostel* series. He served as producer on Landis projects including *An American Werewolf in London* (1981) and *Trading Places* (1983), and on Michael Jackson’s music video for “Thriller”. He died in Los Angeles on 29 December 2024.
