George Innes is a British actor born on 8 March 1938 in Stepney, East London. He trained at Toynbee Hall and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, where he received the Shakespeare Cup, and began his career with the National Theatre under Laurence Olivier. He appeared in stage productions including Chips with Everything at the Royal Court Theatre and on Broadway.

Innes has worked in film and television since 1963. He is known for roles in The Italian Job (1969) as Bill Bailey, A Bridge Too Far (1977) as Sgt. Macdonald, Quadrophenia (1979) as the Cafe Owner, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) as Joe Plaice, Able Seaman, Stardust (2007) as the Soothsayer and Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007) as Burton. Television credits include appearances in M*A*S*H (1972), Shogun (1980), Magnum, P.I. (1980) and Midsomer Murders (1997).
