## Biography

George Kosana (22 December 1935 – 30 December 2016) was an American actor. He played Sheriff McClelland in George A. Romero's *Night of the Living Dead* (1968), in which he also served as production manager and was one of the film's investors.

Born in Clairton, Pennsylvania, Kosana worked as a steelworker and ex-Marine, and held a degree in multimedia photography from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He appeared in further films including *There's Always Vanilla* (1971) and *The Booby Hatch* (1976), and reprised the sheriff role in *My Uncle John is a Zombie* (2016).
