## Biography

George Michael (born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou) was an English singer, songwriter and actor. He was born on 25 June 1963 in East Finchley, London, and died on 25 December 2016.

He first achieved prominence as one half of the pop duo Wham! with Andrew Ridgeley. His film and television credits include an appearance as himself in the series *Eli Stone* (2008) and use of archive footage in the documentary *WHAM!* (2023). He also featured in *Live Aid* (1985) and *The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert* (1992).
