George P. Abbott was an explorer and actor. He appeared as himself in archive footage in the 1924 British documentary *The Great White Silence*, directed and photographed by Herbert G. Ponting. The film records the British Antarctic Expedition of 1910–1913 led by Captain Robert Falcon Scott.
