## Biography

George Pelling was an actor. Born on 25 October 1914 in Salisbury, South Rhodesia, he later became a naturalised United States citizen. He died on 2 December 2008 in Laguna Woods, California.

Pelling provided the voice of Danny the Great Dane in the Disney animated film *One Hundred and One Dalmatians* (1961). He appeared in numerous films and television series, often in small or uncredited roles, including *Witness for the Prosecution* (1957), *20 Million Miles to Earth* (1957), episodes of *Alfred Hitchcock Presents* and *The Alfred Hitchcock Hour*, *The Outer Limits* (1963), *King Rat* (1965) and *Brainstorm* (1965). During the Second World War he served as a flight officer in the Royal Air Force; after his plane was shot down he was held as a prisoner of war in Stalag Luft III, where he took part in the tunnel-digging efforts that led to the Great Escape.
