## Biography

George Romanis was an American composer, conductor and arranger. Born George Zackery Roumanis on 11 February 1929 in Trenton, New Jersey, he began his career as a jazz bassist and arranger in the late 1940s, working with dance bands and later contributing arrangements to ensembles led by Benny Goodman, Count Basie and others. He moved to Hollywood in the late 1960s and composed for film and television.

Romanis scored episodes of numerous series including *Mission: Impossible* (1971), *Mannix* (1971–72), *Hawaii Five-O* (1970–75), *The Streets of San Francisco* (1975), *Police Woman* (1974), *Cannon* (1974–75) and *Airwolf* (1986). He also composed for the *Star Trek: The Next Generation* episode "Too Short a Season" (1988) and television films such as *Of Mice and Men* (1981). He died on 21 November 2018.
