## Biography

George Tomasini (20 April 1909 – 22 November 1964) was an American film editor. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, he worked at Paramount before beginning a decade-long collaboration with director Alfred Hitchcock in 1954.

Tomasini edited nine Hitchcock films, including *Rear Window* (1954), *Vertigo* (1958), *North by Northwest* (1959), *Psycho* (1960) and *The Birds* (1963). He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for *North by Northwest*. Other credits include *Stalag 17* (1953), *The Time Machine* (1960) and *Cape Fear* (1962). He was married to actress Mary Brian from 1947 until his death.
