## Biography

George Zaloom is an American producer, writer and director. He founded ZM Productions with Les Mayfield, initially from his university dormitory, and the company specialised in non-fiction programming and family entertainment.

Zaloom produced the documentary *Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse* (1991) with Mayfield. He also produced the feature *Encino Man* (1992) and served as executive producer on numerous ABC television movies, including several Disney adaptations such as *Escape to Witch Mountain* (1995) and *Tower of Terror* (1997). Later he worked as an executive at DreamWorks Animation, supervising production on *Kung Fu Panda* (2008).

A graduate of the University of Southern California's School of Film & Television, Zaloom has received an Emmy Award and three nominations, as well as the D.W. Griffith Award.
