Gerald Thompson is an Australian cinematographer and motion control specialist, primarily known for his work in stop-motion animation. He served as director of photography on the feature films *Mary and Max* (2009) and *Memoir of a Snail* (2024), both directed by Adam Elliot.

Thompson has also contributed to short films including *Lost & Found* (2018) and *The Story of Percival Pilts* (2015). Earlier in his career he worked in camera and electrical departments on productions such as the first two *Lord of the Rings* films and *King Kong* (2005).
