## Biography

Gérard Lorin (1927–2000) was a French actor and producer. Born in Paris, he appeared in supporting roles in films directed by Alain Resnais, including *Last Year at Marienbad* (1961) as a character from the hotel, *Muriel, or the Time of Return* (1963) as Marc, and *Je t'aime, je t'aime* (1968) as the dentist.

He also acted in *The Wing or the Thigh?* (1976) as the dentist of Duchemin and *I... for Icarus* (1979) as Flavius. Lorin worked as a producer on *The Story of O* (1975) and other films. He had a background in theatre, performing with the Centre dramatique de l'Ouest in the late 1940s and early 1950s, and was married to actress Françoise Bertin.
