## Biography

Gerardo Naranjo is a Mexican director, writer and producer. He studied at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and later earned a master's degree in directing at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.

His feature debut *Drama/Mex* (2006) premiered at Cannes' Semaine de la Critique. He followed it with *I'm Gonna Explode* (2008) and *Miss Bala* (2011), on which he also wrote the screenplay. Naranjo has directed episodes of the television series *The Bridge* (2013), *Fear the Walking Dead* (2016) and *Narcos* (2016). His later feature *Kokoloko* (2020) was written and directed by him.
