## Biography

Gerry Fisher (1926–2014) was an English cinematographer. After service in the Royal Navy during the Second World War, he worked as a clapper boy and focus puller before becoming a camera operator on *The Bridge on the River Kwai* (1957). He made his debut as director of photography on Joseph Losey’s *Accident* (1967) and collaborated with Losey on several further films, including *The Go-Between* (1971).

Fisher’s other credits as director of photography include *Mr. Klein* (1976), *Escape to Victory* (1981), *Highlander* (1986) and *The Exorcist III* (1990). He worked with directors such as Tony Richardson, Sidney Lumet and John Huston. He received BAFTA nominations for *The Go-Between* and *Aces High* (1976), a British Society of Cinematographers nomination for the latter, and a César nomination for *Monsieur Klein* (1976).
