## Biography

Gerald O'Hara (1 October 1924 – 9 January 2023) was a British film and television director and writer. Born in Boston, Lincolnshire, he began his career in the 1940s as an assistant director on numerous British productions, including *Richard III* (1955), *Our Man in Havana* (1959) and *Tom Jones* (1963).

His directorial debut was *That Kind of Girl* (1963). He directed episodes of *The Avengers* in 1965 and 1966, and later directed and wrote the screenplay for *The Bitch* (1979). Television credits include directing and writing episodes of *The Professionals* (1979) and writing an episode of *Bergerac* (1981). Other films include *Amsterdam Affair* (1968) and *The Brute* (1977). His final directing credit was *The Mummy Lives* (1993).
