## Biography

Gerry Renert is a writer and producer. He began his career writing and producing television commercials, which led to opportunities writing sitcoms.

He wrote episodes for *The Bob Newhart Show* (1973) and *M*A*S*H* (1974). He co-created the animated preschool series *ToddWorld* (2004–2008) and served as executive producer; the series received three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Animated Children's Program. He received a Writers Guild of America award for his contributions to series recognised among the top 101 in television history. In 2016 he co-wrote and produced a short film for *Sesame Street*.
