## Biography

Gertrude Flynn (14 January 1909 – 16 October 1996) was an American stage, film and television actress. Born in New York, she began her career on Broadway in the 1930s, appearing in productions including *One Good Year* (1935) and *The Grass Harp* (1952). She later worked extensively in film and television from the mid-1950s onwards.

Her film roles included Lulu McGee in *The Barefoot Contessa* (1954), Mariya Peronskaya in *War and Peace* (1956), Mrs. Starkey in *Blackbeard's Ghost* (1968) and Mrs. O'Malley in *Funny Girl* (1968). On television she made guest appearances in series such as *The Twilight Zone* (as Rose Kramer, 1961), *Alfred Hitchcock Presents*, *Perry Mason* and *Charlie's Angels*. She was married to playwright Asa Bordages.
