He is known for portraying Don Baravelli in Federico Fellini's *Amarcord* (1973). For this role he received the Nastro d'Argento for Best New Actor in 1974. Other credits include *In the Name of the Italian People* (1971) as Silvana's Father, *The Cynic, the Rat & the Fist* (1977) as the Professor, and *The Yellow Panther* (1982) as il portinaio della casa di Andrea.
