## Biography

Giantito Burchiellaro is an Italian production designer and scenographer. Born on 9 February 1940 in Venice, he began his career in the mid-1960s as an assistant in the art department.

His early credits include set decoration on *Juliet of the Spirits* (1965) for Federico Fellini. He went on to work as production designer or art director on numerous Italian films, including *Fracchia The Human Beast* (1981), *The Monster* (1994), *The Bachelor* (1990) and *Modigliani* (2004), as well as international productions such as *Harrison's Flowers* (2000).

Burchiellaro received the Nastro d'Argento for best scenography in 1996 for *According to Pereira* (1995) and in 2003 for *The Soul Keeper* (2002), and the Ciak d'oro in 1998 for *The Prince of Homburg* (1997).
