## Biography

Gideon Ponte is a production designer whose credits include *Buffalo '66* (1998), *American Psycho* (2000), *Nacho Libre* (2006) and *The Notorious Bettie Page* (2005). He has also worked on *Hamlet* (2000), *Series 7: The Contenders* (2001), *Abandon* (2002) and *Filth and Wisdom* (2008).

Ponte trained at art school in London during the 1980s before moving to New York in 1987. He began in the art department as a researcher on Mary Harron’s *I Shot Andy Warhol*, recreating artwork under designer Therese DePrez, which led to his first production design roles. He has designed music videos, including Lauryn Hill’s *Doo Wop (That Thing)*, for which he won an MTV award for Best Art Direction in 1999 and received a Grammy nomination in 1998. Through his company PONTE & Sons he has created sets for photographers and fashion campaigns.
