Gillian Bevan is an English actress born on 13 February 1956 in Stockport, Cheshire. She trained with Manchester Youth Theatre after being inspired by her school teachers and has worked extensively in British television and theatre.

She is known for playing headteacher Clare Hunter in the Channel 4 series *Teachers* (2001–2004) and Dr Lin Pascoe in the BBC drama *Ghostwatch* (1992). Other television credits include *Holby City*, *Father Brown*, *Lewis*, *Foyle's War* and *Shakespeare & Hathaway - Private Investigators*.

Bevan has a substantial stage career, notably playing Dorothy in the Royal Shakespeare Company revival of *The Wizard of Oz* (1988) and the title role in the RSC production of *Cymbeline* (2016). She has also appeared in musicals including *Sweeney Todd* and *Into the Woods*.
