Gillian Robespierre is an American director and writer. She was born on 29 June 1978 in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a degree in Film and Video in 2005.

She began her career as a production assistant on feature films and worked at the Directors Guild of America until 2014. Robespierre made her feature debut with *Obvious Child* (2014), which she wrote and directed, expanding from a 2009 short film. Her second feature, *Landline* (2017), which she also wrote and directed, premiered at Sundance. She has directed episodes of television series including *Casual*, *Crashing*, *Silicon Valley* (2018), *Mrs. Fletcher*, *A Teacher*, *Only Murders in the Building* (2021) and *And Just Like That…*.
