Gina Wendkos is a screenwriter and producer. Born on 2 October 1954 in Florence, Italy, she began her career in theatre as a playwright and performance artist, receiving a National Endowment for the Arts grant for playwriting. She later wrote for television series including *Can't Hurry Love* (1995–1996), which she created, and contributed episodes to other shows.

Her feature film credits include the screenplay for *Coyote Ugly* (2000). She also wrote the screenplay for *The Princess Diaries* (2001) and *The Perfect Man* (2005), and provided the story for *The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement* (2004). Later work includes the screenplay for *Tiger Within* (2020).
