## Biography

Giogiò Franchini is an Italian film editor born on 11 July 1959 in Naples. He began his career as a stage lighting designer before moving into film and television editing in 1992, when he joined the Neapolitan production company Megaris.

Franchini has edited numerous Italian features, including Paolo Sorrentino’s *One Man Up* (2001) and *The Consequences of Love* (2004), Andrea Molaioli’s *The Girl by the Lake* (2007), and later works such as *Last Night of Amore* (2023). He has also directed short films and the 2014 documentary *Lo sposo di Napoli*.

His editing has been recognised with two Ciak d’Oro awards (for *Tano da morire* in 1998 and *The Consequences of Love* in 2005) and a David di Donatello for *The Girl by the Lake* in 2008, along with multiple nominations for the David di Donatello and Nastro d’Argento.
