## Biography

Giuseppe Lanci, also credited as Beppe Lanci, is an Italian cinematographer. Born in Rome on 1 May 1942, he trained at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.

He began his career in the mid-1960s as an assistant camera operator and camera operator on films including *Once Upon a Time in the West* (1968) and *Four Flies on Grey Velvet* (1971). He worked as director of photography from 1977 onwards, collaborating frequently with Marco Bellocchio on eleven films, the Taviani brothers on seven films, and Nanni Moretti on four films, among them *Caro diario* (1993) and *The Son's Room* (2001).

Lanci has received numerous nominations and awards for cinematography, including a David di Donatello.
