## Biography

Giuseppe Rotunno (19 March 1923 – 7 February 2021) was an Italian cinematographer. He began his career as a stills photographer at Cinecittà and worked his way up through the camera department. He served as director of photography on eight films by Federico Fellini, including *Amarcord* (1973), and collaborated frequently with Luchino Visconti on titles such as *Rocco and His Brothers* (1960) and *The Leopard* (1963).

Rotunno’s other notable credits include *All That Jazz* (1979), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Cinematography, *The Adventures of Baron Munchausen* (1988), *Red Sonja* (1985) and *Sabrina* (1995). He was the first non-American admitted to the American Society of Cinematographers in 1966 and won seven Silver Ribbon awards. He also taught at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome.
