## Biography

Gladys Brockwell was an American actress, also credited as Gladys Lindeman and Miss Brockwell. Born Gladys Lindeman in Brooklyn, New York, she began performing on stage as a young child and made her film debut in 1913 for Lubin Studios.

She appeared in numerous silent films, including as Sister Gudule in *The Hunchback of Notre Dame* (1923) and Nana in *7th Heaven* (1927). Brockwell also featured in early sound films such as *Lights of New York* (1928). She was the daughter of actress Billie Brockwell and had brief marriages to director Robert B. Broadwell and Harry Edwards.

Brockwell died on 2 July 1929 in Hollywood, California, from injuries sustained in a car accident.
