## Biography

Grace Chen Shu-Fang, also credited as Chen Shu-fang or 陳淑芳, is a Taiwanese actress. She made her film debut in 1957 and has appeared in over 100 productions across film and television.

She is known for roles in several films directed by Hou Hsiao-hsien, including *The Boys from Fengkuei* (1983), *Taipei Story* (1985), *The Time to Live and the Time to Die* (1985), *Dust in the Wind* (1986) and *A City of Sadness* (1989), in which she played Meidai. Later credits include *Little Big Women* (2020) and *Dear Tenant* (2020).

Chen was born on 2 July 1939 in Jiufen, Taiwan. In 2020 she won Golden Horse Awards for both Best Leading Actress (*Little Big Women*) and Best Supporting Actress (*Dear Tenant*), and received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 62nd Golden Horse Awards in 2025.
