## Biography

Gregory Burke is a Scottish playwright and screenwriter. Born in Rosyth, Fife, in 1968, he attended the University of Stirling for two years before dropping out. His early plays include *Gagarin Way* (2001) and *Black Watch* (2006), the latter written for the National Theatre of Scotland and winner of the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play.

Burke wrote the screenplay for the film *'71* (2014), directed by Yann Demange and starring Jack O'Connell. He also wrote the screenplay for *7 Days in Entebbe* (2018). His television credits include *One Night in Emergency* (2010), *Six Four* (2023) and *Rebus* (2024). *'71* received a nomination for Best Screenplay at the British Independent Film Awards and won Best Writer Film/TV at the BAFTA Scotland Awards.
