Born on 14 March 1943 in Los Angeles, California, he appeared in several films and television series during the late 1940s and 1950s. His older sister, Sharyn Moffett, was also a child actress, and their parents worked in the entertainment industry.

In 1949, Moffett signed a seven-year contract with Paramount. His film credits include *The Judge Steps Out* (1948, uncredited), *Let's Dance* (1950) as Richard 'Richie' Everett, *Saddle Tramp* (1950) as Butch, and *Robot Monster* (1953) as Johnny. He also appeared in episodes of television series such as *Science Fiction Theatre* (1956), *Highway Patrol* (1956) and *Adventures of Superman* (1957). Moffett's acting career ended around 1957. He has been married to Sandy Lynn Helm since 1981; they have four children.
