## Biography

Gregory Rozakis (30 January 1943 – 24 August 1989) was an American character actor and playwright. He made his Broadway debut in 1963 in William Inge’s *Natural Affection*, playing the son of Kim Stanley’s character. That same year he appeared as Hohannes Gardashian in Elia Kazan’s *America America*.

Rozakis later played Charlie Chaplin in Francis Ford Coppola’s *The Cotton Club* (1984) and had roles in *Death Wish* (1974), *The Gambler* (1974) and *Five Corners* (1987). He also appeared in guest roles on television series including *Kojak*, *Starsky and Hutch* and *Charlie’s Angels*. As a playwright he wrote and performed in the off-Broadway play *Chalk Marks on a Brick Wall* at the age of 18, which was later broadcast on CBS, and wrote *The Class*.

He attended Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn and studied at New York University and with Lee Strasberg.
