Grigori Vasilyevich Aleksandrov (also credited as Gregory Alexandrov; original family name Mormonenko) was a Soviet film director, screenwriter and actor. Born on 23 January 1903 in Yekaterinburg, Russian Empire, he died on 16 December 1983 in Moscow.

He began his career collaborating closely with Sergei Eisenstein, acting as Chief Officer Giliarovsky and co-writing *Battleship Potemkin* (1925). He also contributed to *Strike* (1925) and co-directed *October: Ten Days That Shook the World* (1928) and *The General Line* (1929). In the 1930s Aleksandrov established himself as a director of musical comedies, including *Jolly Fellows* (1934), *Circus* (1936) and *Volga-Volga* (1938), several starring his wife Lyubov Orlova.

Aleksandrov was named People's Artist of the USSR in 1947 (or 1948) and Hero of Socialist Labour in 1973. He received Stalin Prizes in 1941 and 1950.
